Role Overview
The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of multiple branches within an assigned region, ensuring alignment with company objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, and profitability. This role includes consolidated P&L oversight and budget management, while developing and executing strategic plans to drive sales growth, market expansion, and operational excellence. The Regional Manager will lead Branch Managers and their teams, optimize labor efficiency across locations, maintain exemplary standards of customer service, and foster strong client relationships at the regional level. Success in this role will be measured through regional performance metrics, branch development, and achievement of strategic growth targets.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Site Operational Leadership
- Drive operational excellence across all branches within the region
- Establish and monitor regional standards for scheduling, project execution, and service delivery
- Analyze and benchmark KPIs across branches to identify best practices and improvement opportunities
- Ensure consistent compliance with safety standards and company policies across all locations
- Implement regional systems and processes to enhance efficiency and scalability
Client Relations & Regional Business Development
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with key regional accounts
- Oversee major client portfolios and coordinate cross-branch service delivery
- Lead regional business development strategy and support estimating initiatives
- Ensure consistent customer satisfaction and resolution of escalated issues
Leadership Development & Talent Management
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Branch Managers across the region
- Promote a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement
- Identify and mentor high-potential leaders through succession planning and career pathing
- Conduct performance evaluations and implement regional talent development programs
- Build bench strength through strategic hiring and retention initiatives
Financial Management & Strategic Planning
- Full P&L ownership and financial accountability for the region
- Consolidate and analyze budgets, revenue, and profitability metrics across branches
- Drive margin improvement and cost optimization initiatives regionally
- Lead strategic planning efforts and contribute to company-wide growth strategies
- Identify acquisition opportunities and integration strategies for regional expansion
Branch Performance & Support
- Monitor individual branch performance and provide targeted coaching to Branch Managers
- Allocate resources effectively across branches to maximize regional performance
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration between branches
- Lead regional meetings and strategic planning sessions
- Ensure Branch Managers have the tools, training, and support needed to succeed
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience within the landscape, design, or commercial services industry with proven track record managing multi-site operations and branches with increased profitability
- Demonstrated success developing and coaching management teams
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing regional P&L and budgets
- Strategic thinker with ability to balance long-term vision with operational execution
- Willingness to travel
